Jim Harmer is a well-known landscape photographer currently living in Idaho, USA. He is the author of six photography books and co-host of the Improve Photography Podcast.
Jim’s photography blog, ImprovePhotography.com, is visited by millions of photographers from around the world, and is followed on social media by over 250,000 photographers.
Members of the Improve Photography community enjoy his laid-back and relaxed teaching style and his willingness to share the techniques he learns. His photography has been purchased and published by large corporations, individual art buyers, and well-respected organizations such as Reader’s Digest and Nikon USA.
Despite receiving a Juris Doctorate and completing law school, Jim continues to work full time as a photographer through his blog at ImprovePhotography.com and also here on Photoclasses.com.

Dustin Olsen is a professional photographer living in Boise, Idaho. He is a co-host on the popular Improve Photography Podcast, a 45-minute weekly photography show. He has taught in college-level photography classes in a traditional setting in addition to his online classes here.
Prior to beginning his work teaching photography online, Dustin also ran a small portrait photography business where he photographed weddings, senior portraits, and families. This is where his love of portrait lighting comes from. In 2011, Dustin began his work here and has taught photography to many thousands of students.
While he practices a wide variety of photography techniques, he is most recognized for his HDR, graphic design, and skill in Photoshop.
Dustin holds a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho.
